Deck Stains The kayak decks can be left natural to show maximum wood grain or stainedusing one of the following stock colors. WOODEN NICKEL KAYAKS deck stainshave been developed to be applied on Okoume plywood prior to the epoxy coat.These fast drying stains result in a strong deck color. Note: The deck inlays,spray skirt lip, and rub rails may be left natural to create a nice contrast. |

Fiberglass Hull Gelcoat Color WOODEN NICKEL KAYAKS fiberglass hulls are available in Endeavor Blue(a dark rich royal blue) or Merlot (a deep burgundy). The contrast in colorwith a natural deck looks absolutely stunning. |
Feathercraft Rudder WOODEN NICKEL KAYAKS makes a stainless steel mount for a FeathercraftRudder. The Indian and Liberty models are designed not to need a rudder.However, should conditions require it, one may be added without difficultyat a later time. |
The on deck self centering rudder rest allows one to retract the rudderblade without watching to see that it is centered on the mount. | |
Deck Lines Nylon deck lines are mounted using our system designed for the bungeedeck straps. This system completely eliminates all cleats and strap eyestopside which decreases chances of body scraping when making wet re-entries.Below the deck this mounting system is free of rivet ends, nuts, and screwends which eliminates puncturing or the possibility of tearing a dry bag. |
Second Bulkhead A second bulkhead may be added forward of the Yakima footbraces as aflotation chamber or a storage area for additional items. However, the forwardhidden hatch cover is not as convenient to reach as the rear one. It willrequire sliding the foot pegs out to remove the front cover for insertionof a dry bag. |
